If a code is not recognized in the acquired image because the grayscale values of the code and the background are almost the same or generally too homogeneous in the entire image, this may be due to the following reasons.

•The material surface on which the code is printed.

Metallic or highly reflective surfaces (similar to overexposure) will result in an image that is far too bright.

•Possible solution

•Use a polarizing filter.

•Tilt the camera.

•Use an external light.

•Change the flash segments (e.g. for round objects).

•Color of code and background have almost the same grayscale value in the monochrome acquired image.

•Possible solution

•Note the complementary colors.

•Set the correct FlashColor to obtain the required contrast.
