tools

The freehand drawing tool can be used to define individual pixels or randomly shaped, even non-contiguous, areas as "of interest". The freehand drawing tool is enabled in the drop-down menu of the drawing tools

tools

via the following button:

freehand_button

After clicking the button, it is possible to draw on the whole screen until drawing mode is exited by clicking the button with the crossed-out pen that appears in the drop-down menu when drawing mode is active.

freehandoff_button

Information:

Freehand drawing mode can also be exited with the Escape key.

In addition, drawing mode is automatically exited when the next ROI drawing tool is added. According to the rule that ROI tools added later are applied later and therefore dominant, this later-added tool can remove areas that have just been drawn, i.e. define them as "not of interest".

The next time the freehand drawing tool is used, a new layer is created for drawing. These freehand drawing layers cannot be selected and can thus not be deleted.

Information:

If the right mouse button is held down, drawn pixels can be removed again, but this only applies to the active freehand drawing layer.

If the ROI drawing becomes too cluttered with the drawing tools available, the resulting area can be evaluated by transferring the ROI to the camera. The resulting ROI area is determined by the camera, saved, returned to and displayed in the HMI application where it can be further edited by adding or subtracting additional areas.
